Our cattle live on luscious and well managed green pastures with unlimited access to water, shade and free choice, natural minerals. The cattle are frequently moved to a new paddock, partitioned by electric fencing. This move ensures the cattle have fresh, clean forage full of nutrients, reduces pathogens, heals the land and thickens the pasture for the next round. This grazing model ensures nutritious beef.
Our cattle are fed grass and hay only. They are hormone and steroid free. They are also antibiotic free but we reserve the right to use antibiotics when medically necessary.
RED DEVON CATTLE
By nature, cattle are ruminants. They are designed to consume leafy green forage and ferment the forage in their four chambers (stomachs). Over the years certain breeds of cattle have been bred to perform better (read put on weight) on grains. Because of this modification these cattle do not put the weight on well when consuming grass. Red Devons are genetically pure meaning they still finish well on grass.
